Junior High Ministry

JYM Volunteer:
Volunteers are needed to help out on Wednesday evenings from 5:30 – 7:00pm for Junior High Youth Group. Responsibilities vary depending on the interest of the volunteer… from simply being present, to helping to facilitate faith discussions, or even to lead a Bible study, the possibilities are endless! Because adolescents tend to be a little more “hyper active” JYM events try to be creative and fun, incorporating fun games with a Bible study or faith lesson.

Junior High Leadership Team Mentor: The Junior High has a leadership team that consists of about 10-15 youth who are responsible for helping to plan special events for junior high and also to lead closing prayer and announcements for the Jr. High Faith Formation program throughout the school year. The volunteer mentor would be present at Leadership Meetings (twice a month during the school year) and help to encourage the spiritual growth and leadership development of these youth.

Chaperone for Special Events: We always need extra volunteers available for special events & programming. From parties and lock-ins, to drivers for Mission Possible, to chaperones at Rough Riders Games, adults are needed to ensure the safety of the youth and help to maintain peace and control.

High School Ministry

SYM Volunteer: Volunteers are needed to help out on Sundays for High School Youth Group from 4:00-6:00pm. Responsibilities for a SYM volunteer vary depending on the interest of the volunteer… from simply being present, to helping to facilitate faith discussions, or even to lead a Bible study, the possibilities are endless!

High School Leadership Team Mentor: The High School has a leadership team that consists of about 15 youth who are responsible for helping to plan special events for high school and also to lead closing prayer and announcements for the High School Faith Formation program throughout the school year. The volunteer mentor would be present at Leadership Meetings (twice a month during the school year) and help to encourage the spiritual growth and leadership development of these youth.

Retreat Team Coordinator: The Retreat team consists of Confirmed youth who prepare and plan the Confirmation Retreat experience for their peers. An adult coordinator is needed to help facilitate retreat team meetings which occur twice a month in the Fall. The coordinator would work closely with the youth minister, and be responsible for encouraging youth to grow in faith, teaching them leadership & small group skills, and helping the youth plan and prepare for the retreat. This is a big job but very rewarding!

Chaperone for Special Events: We always need extra volunteers available for special events & programming. From parties and lock-ins, to drivers for Mission Possible, to chaperones for the Rough Riders Games, Canoe trips, mission trips and more… adults are needed to ensure the safety of the youth and help to maintain peace and control.

Softball Chaperone / Assistant Coach: Beginning in June and lasting through August the high school softball team plays other Catholic churches on Sunday evenings. We need adults present to help keep our youth on their best behavior! If you have skills in coaching, we’d love to have you… but all you truly need is a love of the game and of the youth
