Who can Join the St. Joseph's Ministry of Moms Sharing?
The MOMS welcomes all parishoners of St. Joseph Parish who have kids of any age - from infants to college grads. We also encourage parents who are expecting to attend our activities, even before their first bundle of joy arrives! We can help by offering you prayer, guidance, and meals during this exciting time!
What does the Ministry of Moms Sharing Have to Offer?
Monthly Meeting
Check out our monthly meetings, and meet other moms in the parish! Our group meets the third Friday of each month at 10am in room 123PC. Babysitting is provided for children old enough to walk (younger children can attend the meeting), but reservations are required in advance. Meetings include either a guest speaker or an activity. We share ideas on how to pass our faith on to our children and encourage one another in our spiritual path as parents.
Playgroups
Get to know other parents in the organization while giving your child a chance to play with his peers! We have several playgroups that typically meet once a week, and are divided up by age groups for children under 5 years old.
Scripture Study
Before we can pass our faith onto our children, we must cultivate our own faith! We typically meet the every Friday of each month at 9:30am.
Service to Others
By holding bake sales and other fundraisers, we support ministries such as St. Vincent de Paul and White Rose societies.
Nights Out
We offer an opportunity for you to join us on a “Member’s Night out,” “Family Night Out” and “Couple’s Night Out.”
Clubs
Ask about the various clubs within our Ministry of Moms Sharing! Whether you enjoy scrapbooking, or would like to join the “book club,” spoil yourself with a little “me” time.
Meals for New Moms
The first few weeks after bringing a newborn home from the hospital can be a joyous time – and an exhausting experience! We support one another by volunteering to bring meals to families with a “new addition.” Meals are also provided for those families dealing with serious illnesses or other special circumstances.
Group Outings
Fun events throughout the year for parents and children alike! Outings include trips to the park, meeting at the zoo, etc.
Yearly Events
Don’t forget our usual yearly events, which include the Baby Jesus Birthday Party, Easter Picnic, Dads' Appreciation Dinner, etc., as well as a few new events we want to introduce this year, such as a Children’s Tour of the Sanctuary, a May Altar to honor Mary, and Stations of the Cross for Parents.
