ACTS MINISTRY

The members of the ACTS Community will strive to assist members of St. Joseph Parish family to attain a deeper relationship with our Lord and with fellow parishioners through ACTS Weekends. These weekends are 3-day retreats planned and led by a team of lay persons and patterned after the description of the early church in the Acts of the Apostles (Acts 2:42-47). The purpose is to invite the retreatant to a new relationship with our Lord through: Adoration – Prayer Life, Community – loving and caring for each other, Theology – study of the faith through scripture and Service – to God, each other and our parish family.
Membership: Retreats are open to adults, Catholic and non-Catholic.
Meetings: Scheduled as needed.
A DEEPER WALK

A Deeper Walk is a study group that meets to discuss spiritual writings so that participants may grow closer to God.
Membership: Anyone who is interested in developing their spirituality and their relationship with God.
Meetings: Wednesdays from 7:30-9:00 p.m.
BROTHERS AND SISTERS IN CHRIST
Contact: James Aston (214) 676-3348 The Brothers and Sisters in Christ are notified by the Church office of any parishioner who is ill, undergoing surgery or battling a disease and prays for them. The group also checks regularly on the status of the ill parishioner and maintains their name on a daily prayer list.
Membership: Anyone in the parish over the age of 18 who is interested in praying for the sick of the parish.
Meetings: Second Thursday evening every other month at 7:00 p.m. in an assigned room in the parish center.
