Early Learning

Contact: Amy Mackey (972) 231-1218

The Early Learning program, directed by Amy Mackey, is offered for children from 18 months to 4 years old as of Sept. 1 of the current school year. Families pay registration fees and tuition. The program provides an environment where children can develop spiritually, intellectually, physically and emotionally.

Teachers strive to make each child aware of his or her own worth, both as an individual and as a member of a group. They teach respect for each other and for the environment to instill a sense of community. The children experience developmentally appropriate skills and concepts that have been designed to stimulate their intellectual curiosity. This ultimately prepares them for the transition into kindergarten. The instructional program includes religion and prayers, regular reading by teachers, crafts, music, Spanish for the older children, and occasional teaching visits to the classrooms by the parish priests.

Sessions are offered from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday. Children may attend Monday/ Wednesday, Tuesday/Thursday, or every day during the school year, which runs from August to May. They are grouped according to age and meet in Rooms 133 to 140 in the Early Learning Center. A 12-session summer program is offered two days a week over six weeks during June and July.
