PARISH PASTORAL COUNCIL

The Parish Pastoral Council is comprised of a body of parishioners who provide spiritual support to our pastor as well as discern the spiritual development and needs facing our parish community.

Membership: Any active registered parishioner in good standing over the age of 21 is eligible. They must be baptized, Roman Catholics, committed to prayer and formation, and use discernment for decision-making.

Meetings: First Tuesday of each month in the Board Room.

FINANCE COUNCIL

The Finance Council is the consultative group that assists the pastor in carrying out the common burden of the material administration of the parish. It has the obligation of planning and supervising the financial affairs and physical properties of the parish. The finance council is concerned with parish resources, the budget, Church support, and the effective utilization and maintenance of the parish plan.

Membership: Individuals with experience in finance, banking, accounting, etc. are appointed by the pastor and serve a three-year term, which may be extended.

Meetings: Fourth Thursday of each month.

OUTREACH MINISTRY COMMITTEE

The Outreach Ministry Committee is a standing committee whose purpose is to make decisions concerning the allocation of funds, 5 percent of the weekly collection, set aside by the church for the support of charitable work. The money is given in support of groups within Saint Joseph Church (such as St. Vincent de Paul, etc.), in our community (such as White Rose, Network Ministries, etc.) and in outreach to the universal Church (such as our Sister Parish in Honduras and churches in Nigeria). One of approximately 25 groups that we help support is featured in the bulletin each month, along with suggestions of ways families can become personally involved by donating needed items or volunteering to help with various activities sponsored by that charity.

Membership:  Five standing members.

Meetings:  Meets four times a year and as needed.
